Il Daf Dance Arts Faculty, centro di formazione professionale per la danza con sede a Roma in via di Pietralata, ha recentemente annunciato l’apertura della nuova Stagione. DAF sviluppa un sistema formativo di respiro internazionale integrato con tutto ciò che, accanto alle tecniche sul movimento, possa arricchire da un punto di vista espressivo-culturale le nuove generazioni. Un progetto di ampie vedute che ospita ogni anno artisti provenienti da tutto il mondo secondo un ricco e fitto calendario. Un vero e proprio viaggio di conoscenza e profonda trasformazione che dà la possibilità ai giovani di allargare i propri orizzonti artistici e culturali e di elaborare in modo consapevole i meccanismi che regolano l’equilibrio delle componenti umane ed emotive di un artista.
Dopo Alex Clair, prima artista ospite di una serie di incontri e nuove creazioni in programma, è la volta di Edit Domoszlai, al Daf dal 14 al 26 novembre. Nata in Ungheria, dopo essersi diplomata alla Secondary School of Arts di Pecs nel 2009, Edit è entrata a far parte della compagnia Ballet Pecs. Ha ballato lì come solista per cinque anni in opere di Cameron McMillan, Leo Mujic, Balazs Vincze e Lorand Zachar. Nel 2014, ha vinto il premio Best Female Dancer dell’Associazione Ungherese di Ballerini. Lo stesso anno si è trasferita a Londra ed è entrata a far parte della Rambert Dance Company per quasi 8 anni, dove ha ballato per molti coreografi tra cui Wayne McGregor, Sharon Eyal, Merce Cunningham, Hofesh Schechter, Sidi Larbi Cherkaui, Alexander Whitley, Itzik Galili, Andonis Foniadakis, Christopher Bruce. Da dicembre 2021 è stata anche membro della compagnia L-E-V diretta da Sharon Eyal e Gai Behar. Oltre alla sua carriera di ballerino, Edit ha completato una laurea e un master presso l’Università di Pecs in pratiche di apprendimento e sviluppo. Dal 2018 al 2021 è stata “Reach Ambassador” di Dancers Career Development a Londra. Attualmente sta studiando per un Master in Education and Technology presso il prestigioso University College London. Edit ha creato brevi lavori per la piattaforma coreografica di Rambert, tra cui “Angels”, “selfie-sh” e “Competitive Plasticity”, che sono stati selezionati per il Concorso internazionale di coreografia di Hannover. Inoltre, ha creato brevi brani per i diplomati dell’Accademia di danza ungherese. Più recentemente è stata selezionata da Wayne McGregor come uno dei due giovani coreografi per la 59a Biennale di Venezia (2022), dove ha creato un’opera di mezza serata “Liminal”. È stato eseguito nell’ambito del programma del Festival Internazionale della Danza all’interno della Biennale.
The Daf Dance Arts Faculty based in Rome in via di Pietralata, recently announced the opening of the new Season. DAF develops an international training system integrated with everything that, alongside the movement techniques, can enrich the new generations from an expressive and cultural point of view. A big project that every year hosts artists from all over the world. A real and deep journey of knowledge that gives young people a possibility of transformation to broaden their artistic and cultural horizons.
After Alex Clair, the new guest artist is Edit Domoszlai, at the Daf for the first time. Born in Hungary, after graduating from the Secondary School of Arts in Pecs in 2009, Edit joined the company, Ballet Pecs. She danced there as a soloist for five years in works by Cameron McMillan, Leo Mujic, Balazs Vincze and Lorand Zachar. In 2014, she won the Hungarian Dancers Association’s Best Female Dancer award. The same year she moved to London and joined Rambert Dance Company for nearly 8 years, where she danced for many choreographers including Wayne McGregor, Sharon Eyal, Merce Cunningham, Hofesh Schechter, Sidi Larbi Cherkaui, Alexander Whitley, Itzik Galili, Andonis Foniadakis, Christopher Bruce. From December 2021 she was also a member of the company L-E-V directed by Sharon Eyal and Gai Behar. Alongside her dancing career, Edit completed a BA and an MA at the University of Pecs in Learning and Development Practices. From 2018 to 2021 she was a “Reach Ambassador” of Dancers Career Development in London. She is currently studying for an MA in Education and Technology at the prestigious University College London. Edit created short works for Rambert’s choreographic platform, including “Angels”, “selfie-sh” and “Competitive Plasticity” that was selected for the International Choreography Competition in Hannover. Besides she created short pieces for the graduates of Hungarian Dance Academy. Most recently she was selected by Wayne McGregor as one of the two young choreographers for the 59th Venice Biennale (2022), where she created a half-evening length piece “Liminal”. It was performed as part of the program of the International Dance Festival within the Biennale.
